Who comes first, the harpist or her instrument ?

The music, Marie JAN will reply.
UAn unusual type of music which has many different forms and variants; she claims this music is definitely feminine. Even though it is calm and often soft, she successfully integrates all its fanciful variations.

Marie JAN has not yet totally emerged from that childlike spirit of hers. So much the better! The candid look in the eyes that shine out of that baby face of hers questions the dream that her music tries to place in the magical space of audience contact.

Jazz is a second nature to Marie JAN and this is reflected in her music which is performed with emotion and self-denial. Her instrument is the medium through which she relates to the world. The magic of her harp radiates a sense of intermusical fraternity, through its  diverse tones and sounds and deep echoes, as well as in its various purposes.

She is the harpist of a new era. Whether her repertoire is rooted in the past or features South American, Breton, Irish, Blues or jazz music, the dream she had as a little girl still stands out: gather her audience and truly share emotional sensations. Marie JAN gives the harp a sense of popular nobility which keeps up which the times and is acknowledged accordingly.
